Kurt is a West Point graduate and retired Army officer who has dedicated his life to serving his country and community to include 23 years serving in Infantry & Green Beret units, teaching at West Point and volunteering to go back on active duty in 2005 to serve in Iraq advising the Iraqi Army. He has lived in Gilford for over 23 years where he helped found and is the President of the Board of Directors for Camp Resilience and has helped run over 130 therapeutic retreats for veterans and first responders since 2014, served on the Gilford School Board for 9 years, been a leader in the local Boy Scout troop, a volunteer coach for the Gilford High School football team and a patroller on the Gunstock Ski Patrol among other volunteer activities. He is a moderate who believes in fiscal responsibility and that the most important things for any member of any legislature are integrity and a willingness to compromise

  • Protecting the climate and environment so that Belknap County remains a great place to live and for tourists to visit.
  • Affordable housing so that employees of local businesses can live close to where they work.
  • Saving our democracy at all levels from extremists and autocrats.
